Where do you put the Hard?

HARD

I think about this Kennedy speech nearly every week:

We can pick our hard, or we can have it thrust upon us without choice.

Our choice, or someone else’s.

One thing is certain.

There is no avoiding hard.

We must find meaning in the hard.

And we must know where to put it.

A marathon runner does not expect to run the race and not be tired. That would be crazy.

She knows that she needs to put the hard somewhere. Over time, she finds places to store it. Mindsets, mental games, physical stress all help her manger her hard. She also knows exactly why she’s running it, why she put herself through the hard.

The next time you are thinking about how hard this game is, think of it like a marathon runner. (not like a marathon) like a marathon runner.

You knew becoming an actor was going to be hard (god knows you were told enough times) and yet you did it anyway. You did it because you are an explorer, you are an adventurer, you are a free spirit.
